Introducing Nocturo: A Natural Amber Wine Inspired by Ancient Traditions

Bel Lago is excited to announce the release of Nocturo, a bold and naturally crafted amber wine, that pays homage to ancient winemaking techniques while offering a modern, textured experience for adventurous palates.

Nocturo is unfiltered, unfined, and fermented on the skins for three weeks—a method traditionally used in red winemaking but applied here to white grapes, resulting in a tannic, structured profile that is both rich and raw.  With zero sugar and mild acidity, it is a wine that speaks with honesty and depth.

This obscure and compelling blend—57.5% Riesling, 25% Pinot Grigio, 10% Siegerrebe, and 7.5% Auxerrois—was aged for 12 months in neutral oak, allowing the natural qualities of the fruit to shine through without interference.  Aromas of orange zest and cherry blossom lead to a creamy, soft texture that lingers on the palate. As the orange hue suggests, this white wine features a higher tannin concentration which will lend itself to a beautiful evolution and aging over the next 5-7 years.

Bottled without filtration and made without additives, Nocturo is a true expression of the land and the grapes—nothing more, nothing less. It pairs beautifully with soft cheeses like brie or camembert, and complements grilled fish and shellfish with ease.

Nocturo is not just a wine—it’s a return to roots, a raw and natural reflection of craftsmanship and curiosity. For those who enjoy exploring lesser-known wine styles, Nocturo offers a rare glimpse into the past, revived with intention and care.
