This weekend, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming so many of you to Bel Lago Winery for the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail’s SOLD OUT Sips & Soups event! The tasting room was filled with laughter, great conversation, and the comforting aromas of tomato and basil soup from MI Market, perfectly paired with our 2021 Dry Riesling.
It was a joy to see familiar faces and meet new wine lovers, all coming together to embrace the magic of good food, great wine, and even better company. Events like these remind us why we love what we do, and we can’t wait to do it all over again next year—or even sooner at the next Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail event!

Tasting Notes: 2021 Dry Riesling
Our 2021 Dry Riesling is crisp and bright, exploding with fruit aromas and flavors that are supported by a mineral base. Green apple, bergamot, hibiscus and passion fruit lift from the glass, while the flavors of lime zest, star fruit and quince provide its fruity taste. Clean and light, with a subtly sweet mineral finish, this Riesling is as striking as the Northern Michigan vineyards from which it came. A versatile wine, that pairs beautifully with rich, tomato-based dishes—making it the ideal match for this weekend’s savory and herbaceous soup.

Celebrate love, wine, and perfect pairings at the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail’s annual Taste the Passion event! From February 14-16 (12–5 PM daily), enjoy a 2oz pour of wine paired with a delicious bite at each participating winery. Plus, every ticket includes $10 in “Cork Cash” to use on bottles, tastings, or merchandise.
