FIDDLEHEADS x BEL LAGO WINE DINNER

We had the pleasure of partnering with Fiddleheads restaurant for a truly exceptional five-course wine dinner—an evening filled with exquisite flavors, perfectly curated wine pairings, and as always great company from our local community. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted to highlight the depth and character of Bel Lago wines, creating a seamless harmony between food and wine.

Appetizer

Polish Heritage Farm Mangalista Pork & Bone Broth Dumpling paired with our 2022 Auxerois Reserve

This elegant opening course set the tone for the evening, with the rich, focused tropical fruit flavors of our 2022 Auxerrois Reserve beautifully complementing the delicate, savory dumpling. Aged sur-lie in neutral French oak, this wine’s beautiful texture and depth enhanced the dish, creating a harmonious and flavorful start to the meal.

Salad

Microgreens & Arugula with Lavender Vinaigrette paired with our 2021 Dry Riesling


The elegant stone fruit flavors and textured minerality of our 2021 Dry Riesling perfectly complemented the crisp, peppery arugula and floral lavender vinaigrette. This pairing brought a refreshing brightness to the dish, balancing the herbaceous and floral notes with a lively, clean finish.

Soup

Shiitake & King Trumpet Mushrooms with Scalded Cream & Bel Lago Chardonnay paired with our 2018 Chardonnay


The fresh fruit flavors and toasted oak texture of our 2018 Chardonnay perfectly complemented the earthy richness of the shiitake and king trumpet mushrooms. Barrel fermented and sur-lie aged for 11 months, this wine's creamy texture and subtle oak notes elevated the soup, enhancing its deep, savory flavors while adding a smooth, luxurious finish.

Main Course

Braised Short Rib with Creamed Leeks, Potato Mousse, & Moreno Grand Reserve Demiglace paired with our 2018 Blaufränkisch


The rich dark fruit flavors and soft oak tannins of our 2018 Blaufränkisch were the perfect complement to the braised short rib, enhancing its tender, savory depth. Barrel aged for three years, this balanced, medium-bodied wine brought out the complexity of the dish, with its smooth tannins and layered fruit character creating a memorable pairing.

Dessert

Honey Cake with Dried Figs & Blue Cheese paired with our 2023 Late Harvest Gewürztraminer


The robust aromatics and rich structure of our 2023 Late Harvest Gewürztraminer beautifully complemented the sweet and savory honey cake, figs, and blue cheese. Its balanced sweetness harmonized with the dessert's flavors, while the wine's bold profile added depth to the pairing.
